Submission Guidelines

We prioritise submissions by marginalised creators, but are open to all writers. Please note that we will never accept content that would be considered offensive to marginalised groups (including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism).

Submissions for Issue 2 are now closed, we will re-open shortly.

Please only submit once every reading period per genre.

For poetry, send 1–4 poems (up to 8 pages in total) in a SINGLE document (.pdf, .docx or .doc) as an attachment to an email: hyadeseditors@gmail.com

For fiction, send up to two flash fiction pieces (up to 1000 words each) in a SINGLE document (.pdf, .docx or .doc) as an attachment to an email: hyadeseditors@gmail.com

All work must be wholly your own and previously unpublished.

Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but please inform us promptly if any piece is accepted elsewhere.

For all submissions, include the word “SUBMISSION” in the subject line of the email; otherwise it will be deleted, unread. Please also place a 3rd person bio and cover letter in the body of the email alongside any submission. Unfortunately, we’re unable to pay contributors but will work hard to publicise all our accepted submissions. However, we will be nominating for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize.

We aim to respond to submissions as quickly as we can. If you haven’t heard from us within 3 months, feel free to query. We thank submitters for their patience as we handle each submission with the utmost care.

To get a better idea of what we seek to publish, you can check out our Liminal Mag interview.

Thank you for considering Hyades as a potential home for your work! We look forward to reading it!
